Steven Marichal is a Latino filmmaker & photographer from Austin, Texas, now based in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. He is pursuing a B.A. in Media Arts at the University of North Texas and will graduate in December 2025.

He previously interned at the Richard Linklater-founded Austin Film Society, assisting with clerical work, live shoots, and day-to-day operations at the Austin Public community TV station. At UNT, he worked as a North Texas Television Associate, teaching audio and camera workshops, running show auditions, meeting with producers, and supporting studio operations.

Most recently, he co-directed the comedy short “A Deal with the Devil” and is producing “No Charge Neil’s” as part of UNT’s Advanced Film Capstone Production course.
